On July 30, 2021, the German Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology and In-Service Support (BAAINBw) awarded Saab AB of Sweden a contract to modernize the tactical radar and fire control systems of the German Navy's Brandenburg-class frigates (F123). The contract package also includes services for the Performance Based Logistics (PBL) complex to ensure that the frigates are ready for deployment in the coming years. The total contract value is approximately 4.6 billion Swedish kronor.
