Rechtsanwalt (German Lawyer) – Senior Associate

Moritz Schmidt

Moritz Schmidt has been part of our firm since April 2025 and has been advising both public clients and private companies for over five years, specialising in public procurement law and private construction law.

One of Moritz Schmidt's particular areas of specialisation is the comprehensive structuring and implementation of sometimes large-volume and complex procurement procedures for public clients as well as private companies as beneficiaries. Depending on requirements, this includes the strategic conception of invitations to tender, the drafting of the tender documents and the required contracts, the implementation of the procedure as an external contracting authority, including the handling of bidder questions and complaints, as well as the monitoring of the contract implementation after the contract has been awarded. Moritz Schmidt regularly represents clients before review bodies and courts.

In addition to public procurement law and the drafting of contracts for procurement projects, issues relating to private construction law regularly form part of Moritz Schmidt's advisory practice. The spectrum of advice ranges from bidder support, contract drafting and advice during construction to the judicial and extrajudicial enforcement and defence of claims.

Moritz Schmidt studied law at the University of Greifswald. He specialised in commercial law, including competition law, antitrust law, corporate law and intellectual property law. Moritz Schmidt completed his legal clerkship in the district of the Berlin Court of Appeal.

During his legal clerkship, Moritz Schmidt worked for an international commercial law firm in the field of antitrust law. He first worked as a lawyer for the internationally oriented commercial law firm DLA Piper in the areas of civil procedural law and out-of-court dispute resolution. Between 2020 and 2025, Moritz Schmidt worked for the law firm Leinemann und Partner in Berlin, where he was able to specialise in public procurement law and private construction law as part of a renowned team.

Moritz Schmidt has been a specialist lawyer for public procurement law since March 2025.
